We met each other in the summer of 2010, just before Stetson’s senior year of high school & my first year of college at Oklahoma State. Over the next 5 years, we both earned our bachelors degrees while we worked a handful of jobs: Quiktrip, Kum ‘n Go, Hotels, Lowe’s, Chipotle, the YMCA, even an internship with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

As millennials, technology has always been a part of our lives. Computers became a household item during our childhood, but our story really begins shortly after that stint with the OKC Thunder. While driving around aimlessly with roommates looking for “FOR RENT” signs in front yards, I thought of an idea for an app (keep in mind, this was late 2012, early 2013). With that idea, StudentShare was born. I started learning Objective-C, and hated it. It was my first project, so naturally the UI (User Interface) was extremely simple.

Try to imagine it... download, click, StudentShare opens, you select “House” or “Apartment”. On the next screen, you choose the # of roommates you have. Finally, all spaces for rent that meet that criteria are displayed! Revolutionary, right? The app was launched in the App Store and… failed miserably. You see, the whole idea of an app is engagement. Ideally, you want people using it every day, or several times a day, not twice a year. Chalk it up as a loss. You live & you learn.

A year and a half later I graduated in December of 2014 with a degree in Business Administration & Marketing. Stetson graduated in May of 2016 with a degree in Marketing & Management. I put my business degree to work immediately after graduation, teaching English for 5 years in Vietnam, China, and Colombia (okay, that doesn’t have anything to do with business, you’re right). Stetson started his Sales, Business Development, and Marketing career with the largest American Standard HVAC supplier in the U.S. and still works there today.

After 5 years of teaching, I was considering a Master’s degree or shifting into tech full-time. I knew that it was now or never. I took everything I had learned on my own and enrolled in an intensive 3 month coding & design course (9-7 every day, 5 days a week). Towards the end of my course, Stetson & I were talking on the phone. He showed me a website and asked if I could build a similar one. I said yes, and we had our first client! I’ll never forget that feeling. To this day, it’s just as exciting each and every time we start working with a new client.

Our goal is to make the internet, and tech, simple. Many of our clients have dealt with large out of state agencies, and each time they call they speak to a different person, or even worse, a bot! With us, you know exactly who you're speaking to each and every time. Business owners already have enough on their plate, and we’re here to help them focus on what they’re best at! Their business.
